The Typhoon Air Intake System, for the EVO, uses free-flowing, mandrel-bent, 6061 aluminum induction tubing. Includes barrel-locking, stainless-steel hose clamps, and hardware. To help absorb engine vibration, couplings are made of high-quality, multi-ply DuPont Nomex-reinforced silicone hose, which remains flexible under extreme temperatures.
Note-1: The Lancer EVO Typhoon system's mass-airflow adapter plate is made from that sensor's same Grivory (glass-reinforced nylon) material for a factory look.
Note-2: K&N caps the Lancer EVO FilterCharger with a carbon-fiber top. This system also boasts a carbon-fiber heat shield, which mounts directly to the Lancer EVO's air scoop, and prevents ingestion of heated air from the turbo manifold.
